François Lee – Associate founder
François Lee was born in Paris, France from Korean parents. He has a degree in Animation from EMCA in Angouleme. He attended both French public school and Korean school since a young age, and therefore is fluent in French, English and Korean.
François started his career as first assistant director for TV Animation in France. Through the early days of his career, his language skills helped him on multiple co-productions between France, Korea, Canada, U.K, and Malaysia.
In 2013, he moved to Montreal to work on animated feature film The Little Prince, and later Ballerina. In 2016, he moved to Los Angeles where he officiated as VP of production and development for Zag Animation. He served on several projects including TV hits Miraculous Ladybug, Ghostforce, Power Players, Denver, and 2 feature films development.
In 2017, François was introduced to Akira Yamaguchi as he was starting to develop his first feature film project as writer and director. Their similar background encouraged them to start their collaboration.
Since then, they have joined forces for clients such as Japanese Animation producers Genco and Toei Animation, and also, they have been flying all over the world to pitch François’ animated feature film project Ricky, the American Rikishi.
